Growth teams are normally about fast, iterative experiments – but sometimes it makes sense to swing for the fences with larger projects. The Growth team at Strava has balanced these two modes by staying true to what we do well – helping connect athletes with the value of our app, and working on projects that have an outsized impact on our business. Over the past few years, we've led an overhaul of the Explore tab, made some major updates to the feed, and made major changes to our navigation. I'll talk about how we decided to invest in these projects, and the pitfalls to be aware of when placing a bet.
